The staff appointed in the JAI Polytechnic is aimed at providing basic foundation by imparting instructions in the subject of Applied Mathematics, Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics and Communication Skills, so that the students of our Institute can be prepared to handle the engineering subjects after second semester.
The role of the department is to uplift especially those students who are coming from the rural background and generally from Hindi medium. The students are motivated with the help of counseling by the counselors appointed from the staff. The department always keeps interaction with the parents/guardians through mails and telephonic conversations.
Physics Lab
The lab is fully equipped with the equipments required for the experiments. It has vernier calipers, spherometers, screw gauge, barometers, surface tension equipments and others with all accessories in ample quantity. Each student is given its own set of apparatus required for the practical. Two qualified physics lecturers and a fully trained lab attendant is appointed too help the students to perform the practical. Lab manuals prepared by the faculty are available with the students which guides the student so that student can perform the practicals.
Chemistry Lab
The lab is fully equipped with the apparatus required for the experiments. It has apparatus for volumetric analysis, preparation of standard solutions, determination of strength of solutions, ph of water and many. Each student is given its own set of apparatus required for the practical. Two qualified chemistry lecturers and a fully trained lab attendant is appointed too help the students to perform the practical. Lab manuals prepared by the faculty are available with the students which guides the student so that student can perform the practicals.
Communication Lab
Communication skills lab is art of its own. Students in the polytechnic eagerly waits for the practical session of this lab. As the lab contains individual set of hardware (headphones, microphone and recorder) for each student. It provides them the facility by which they can listen to the instructions by the lecturer, can record their own voice. Lab has latest audio video software's which helps the students to enhance their communication skills. The presentations by the students are viewed by the others on LCD screen provided in the lab. The lab is fully computerized.
